World Information:
  • 10,000 years ago, there was an advanced civilization that ruled the world by mixing science and magic. They created multiple systems to help stabilize and control the weather of their world. Unfortunately, the empire fell into chaos and ruin due to the delicate nature of the weather machine. It created a global catastrophe killing almost everything on the planet. The last remaining survivors split into two different societies -- mages and the remaining humans.
  • The group of mages used the last of the technology to modify their bodies to use the power of the weather machine without needing the actual machine. They also took the knowledge to use magic. The group traveled across the sea to the most eastern island in the world to create their new kingdom known as the Rain Principality. They learned to connect to the world, understand its voice and emotions, and with the spirits of nature and of the dead. It was due to those connections they were able to create a song to summon all aspects of the weather. However, they soon come to learn only those capable of handling all aspects of their without destroying their bodies were able to gain the title "the best vocalist" and become candidates to become the next rulers.
  • On the other hand, the remaining humans were able to keep the rest of the advanced technology that had no ties with the magical aspects of it. Many groups decided to split into many different kingdoms and began to spread across the world to repopulate.
  • 1,000 years later, the king (ruler was female) of the northern continent decided to unite the nations under their reign by using the power of the pillars that were once part of the weather machine from 10,000 years ago. They were unable to create global storms as the ancient civilization from 10,000 years ago but were able to create small scale storms in the different areas across the world. Their kingdom began to be known as the Darkness Principality due to using brute force to make all the other kingdoms offer their allegiance.
  • Their constant use of the remaining weather machine began to bring imbalance to the world which angered one of the most powerful mages from the Rain Principality. The mage confronted the king, demanding them to stop using the machine, and find a less drastic measure to unite the continent. The king offered them the opportunity to provide an alternative solution. The mage began to make the changes by studying the remaining pillars of the weather machine, learning to fully control it, and began to use its power for peace. At first, it angered the king; however, they began to notice the assassination attempts against their life began to decrease. For a while, they were able to enjoy the idea of peace and grew closer to the mage.
  • However, the mage confessed their true intentions -- a voice was calling out to them. The voice of the planet was begging the mage to take the role as the first guardian spirit to help extend its life. Due to the weather machine being constantly used for war, it has heavily weakened the planet of its resources and its core was on the brink of destruction, so the mage decided to give up their life in exchange for the planets'. It activated a new system to help increase the life span of the planet by several hundred years by using those with strong spiritual power to become guardians or holy spirits. For the Rain Kingdom, the best vocalist was considered to be the highest-ranking mage.
  • The king felt utterly betrayed by the mage's sudden disappearance. Their broken heart reverted them back to the same tyrannical rule which caused another uprising amongst the other countries. The king fought for many years until they were killed in battle. Their death brought the immediate destruction of the Darkness Kingdom. The survivors disappeared further into the northern continent creating another country known as the Twilight Kingdom while others secretly migrated to other countries.
  • 500 years later, the Rain Kingdom was dedicated to keeping the world’s balance by singing for mankind's blessing. They began to refer to themselves as rain summoners. Many decided to travel to purify other villages, cities, and nations. At some point, a terrible spirit began to terrorize the world. It's growing grudge was bringing imbalance to both the human and spirit world by influencing dark emotions. The current ruler of the Rain Principality along with the other mages living in other kingdoms joined forces in sealing away the evil spirit by splitting its consciousness into different moving pillars and sanctuaries across the world. The magic needed was so immense the rain summoners had to use the destructive aspect of their magic by destroying three different countries in a single night. Without their knowing, the evil spirit released multiple seeds of darkness to search for those deep in despair to manipulate into releasing them.
  • Many countries became aware of the rain summoner’s existence, especially when the traveling minstrels sang about it across the world and natural rainfall began to disappear. The Sand Kingdom lost most of its water resources. The Ice Kingdom, Ocean Kingdom, and Sky Dukedom were one of the remaining lands filled with water. Many countries formed religious groups dedicated to the weather. Sky Dukedom prayed to the Water Dragon God, the Sand Kingdom prayed to the Lightning and Thunder God, and the Sun Kingdom worshipped the Sun. Due to social pressures, many summoners were forced to return home while making it almost impossible to leave afterward. Black Lotus Stones were later discovered to be used as both protective barriers and limiters. A tower made of black lotus stones was created to imprison irresponsible rain summoners.
  • Once the rain summoners disappeared from society, many religious cults began to gain power as religions in their respective countries. The Sun Kingdom’s church gained 50% authority. They created an assassination sect used to control those who threaten them. They legally murdered many queen candidates attempting to marry into the royal family by disguising it as a holy test. Other countries, like the Sky and the Lake Kingdom, used their religion to protect the sanctuaries and temples where the remnants of the evil spirit were sealed in, while others, like the Sand and the Twilight Kingdom, used their religions to act as symbols of war and create a menacing reputation to keep other countries away from them.
  • Some time afterward, the Rain Kingdom was forced to use its power when a severe drought was affecting the majority of the world due to the loss of rainfall. Queen Tohara, who is Nike's grandmother, decided to provide rain, but in exchange closed her kingdom's borders and cut all connections to regain their anonymity. Their citizens began to live a simple lifestyle while adopting the motto "peaceful living by living a carefree life". They live in tranquility while suffering the economic consequences of becoming a self-sufficient republic.
  • Livius's father known as, Leonidas Orvinus Afrika, began a war campaign to attack countries with water resources. The Sand Kingdom and the Ocean Kingdom became his allies. The Sky Dukedom was turned into a vassal nation and their resources were stolen. He declared war to the Ice Kingdom. It lasted for a decade until his death. His son, Livius I, descended to the throne and won the war after assassinating the royal family and forcefully marrying their surviving princess, known as Ursula Luichanier. Then he went on a three-year campaign until he became the World King. Many countries began to sell narcotics and individuals with unique colorings -- skin, hair, and eyes -- as slaves to the black market.
  • The Ice Kingdom created a group known as Klauss with the purpose to regain their freedom from King Livius I. After Ursula escaped, she was able to recruit radical members and became a separate entity from the original Klauss.

CW: Large age-gap relationships, domestic violence and abuse, attempted rape, and minor mentions of genocide, murder, and attempted suicide.
    Personal History:
  • Nike is the fourth princess of the Rain Kingdom. She was unable to summon rain and was labeled the black sheep of the family. Tohara had her undergo severe training until succeeding in becoming the best vocalist a decade later.
  • The World King offered the Rain Kingdom a chance to preserve their autonomy in exchange for a political marriage. The four princesses made this important decision with a game of rock-paper-scissors: Nike lost.
  • Nike meets the Sun King and gets imprisoned after pulling his cheeks and beating up four of his palace guards (without her powers). She escapes and confronts him for revenge. Impressed by her fortitude, he wishes to learn her unwillingness to obey prompting Nike to explain the requirements of her magic. He accepts the conditions without understanding its spiritual significance. Nike showcases her skill after rescuing him and improving their relationship.
  • She becomes worthy of the World Queen candidacy by proving her powers aren’t sinister to foreign ambassadors, publicly revealing the heinous crimes of the nation’s church, and proving to Livius’s family and friends -- Livius's childhood friend and princess of the Ocean Kingdom, Amaluna Luirasalle, known as Luna, and Livius's half-uncle called Baldwin Cecil Ifrikia -- her genuine interest in marrying him and helping mend their relationships even after getting bullied by them.
  • She returns home after learning about her grandmother’s health, then is kidnapped to the Black Lotus Tower after Livius’s arrival. Kitora reveals the plan to brainwash Livius in forgetting about her. Nike forcefully attempts to escape but Kitora releases her after witnessing the way she was harming herself to do so. Kara, Nike’s third oldest sister, guides her to where Livius and her grandmother dueled only to find he won. Nike’s family apologizes by celebrating their country's version of an engagement party. Realizing neither Kitora and her grandmother attended, Livius decides to help them talk. Nike gets the chance to offer her deepest gratitude to them both. Later, as Nike leaves port, her grandmother dedicates the "Farewell Rain" song to bless her decision.
  • Prince Irada ki Aku, known as Taishi, informs Nike about the drought and deadly disease affecting his country in the Sand Kingdom. She decides to help but gets kidnapped after getting a head injury. Farrah, one of Taichi’s servants and childhood friend, decides to help Nike escape with the help of Taichi’s uncle. Nike encounters Taichi’s deceased sister who guides her to the previous palace gardens to fulfill a lingering promise to her brother. Nike rejects Taichi’s confession and decides to return home with Livius.
  • Luna wants to nullify her engagement to a 30-year-old marquis named Claude Fortis. They agree to help after learning about his promiscuous past. Luna disguises Nike to act as her lover. She overhears Fortis’s conversation with his servant, Liu, about his intentions to use Luna. They decide to lure Fortis to a local, deserted island to rescue and publicly humiliate him. The plan backfires: Nike collapses. Fortis learns of her true identity after rescuing Luna and assisting Livius with her care. Luna confesses falling in love with Fortis to Nike. Knowing this, she challenges Fortis to a duel to forcefully reveal his plans to Luna, but once she wins, he retreats. Luna is devastated until Liu reveals the truth about Fortis’s reputation is due to a misunderstanding after resolving a black market syndicate scandal. Fortis publicly reveals having found a narcotic in his territory from a royal cargo ship from the Ocean Kingdom. He suspected the royal family, but after investigating: the prime minister was the true culprit. In the end, Luna and Fortis decide to remain engaged after capturing the prime minister and resolving the case.
  • Nike befriends a traveling gypsy, named Slan, after rescuing her injured wild dog known as Ryuuka. Slan asks Nike to teach her to sing in order to kidnap her. Amid their lesson, the wild pup gets injured after upsetting a colony of wild wasps. Nike desperately helps Slan to search for a doctor. In gratitude, Slan gives Nike a beautiful medicine container that Livius finds. He interrogates Nike and reveals Slan’s true identity -- the princess of the Ice Kingdom. After threatening Nike with the blood of her country and family, she decides to obey him. Livius finds and publicly tortures those involved with Ursula. Nero, Ursula’s childhood friend, directly attacks an armed Livius while Ursula attempts a sneak attack, but Nike receives the attack intended for him. Ursula is left stunned, getting captured. Nike learns Livius and Ursula were once married and Ursula had escaped. Ursula begs Nike to no longer show her compassion because they're enemies as long as she remains with Livius. Benius, one of Livius’s retainers, informs Nike about the violent history between the Sun and the Ice Kingdom, the way it ended, and the result to legally gain ownership of it. Nike returns to the palace to find the remaining members of Ursula’s group escaped. Nike uses her powers to remove the stunning effects of the smoke used on the palace but loses control. Everyone feels helpless until Kara arrives to rescue Nike. Traces of an unknown poison were found in her blood causing painful seizures. She only has a month to live if a cure isn’t found. Kara uses hypnosis to control Nike's seizures, forcing her to sleep.
  • Livius is desperate in finding a way to save Nike. He goes to the three sages of the sun for advice. They decide to help Livius providing him information about the Witch of the Forest of Wonders known as Cassandra rumored to have advanced medical knowledge. He leaves and finds an orphan named Justin, who is in charge of protecting Cassandra. Livius finds his way to her home after rescuing an assassin girl known as Tsubai. Cassandra welcomes Livius with the promise to help Nike after finding an elixir. He travels to the Dragon's Breath cave, faces his fears, and uncovers an egg. It hatches to a golden bird. The priests of the Sun Kingdom find out about Livius's plans in using a witch to rescue Nike. They were going to block it until Livius publicly announces Cassandra as his concubine to legally avoid the issue. Cassandra was able to create the antidote to help Nike. Once Nike regained her strength, she learned about Cassandra being his concubine and didn't like it. Livius announces to abandon Cassandra and to never legally marry another or have a concubine because he will relinquish his power over to Nike. Cassandra and Justin leave soon afterward.
  • Kara repairs Nike's broken limiter earrings. She attempts to reconnect to the sky only to fail. Kara investigates while Livius attempts to console a heartbroken Nike. Without realizing a mysterious entity had sealed Nike's powers away. Livius decides to build Nike a garden to console and distract her.
  • Livius decides to take a vacation after finishing his official royal business for the year. They prepare to visit a hot spring resort town. Nike is assigned a bodyguard known as Galta Bayreuth, the son of the Sun Kingdom's general. Livius decides to officially propose and suggests to marry the upcoming spring -- to which Nike never gave a response but accepted all the same. Under Galta's advice, Nike explores the town in disguise. A young man with red hair introduces Nike to a fountain producing sparkling water. Livius and Nike visit the hot springs and discuss Nike's unwillingness to have sex until he was older. Later on, Nike accidentally finds a naked Galta before getting ambushed by two masked individuals.
  • They are taken to the Sky Dukedom and learn the identity of their assailant, the red-headed man, known as Duke Nephero. Nike attempts to escape by threatening to kill herself and all those on the ship until they use an injured Galta as a hostage. She accepts to cooperate to save Galta’s life. Nike challenges and publicly humiliates Nephero until he forces her to learn more about his country and to test her powers. Nike regained some of her wind and hypnotism. She learns the reason for Nephero's desire for power, the bad history between the Sky Dukedom and the Sun Kingdom, and the improved economy. She grows sympathy for the country and its citizens. An earthquake destroys a portion of the salt pans trapping people within. Nike volunteers to help with the rescue efforts. Nephero falls in love with her and decides to publicly announce their engagement. He imprisons her until she accepts. Nike escapes and searches for Livius's engagement ring after Nephero confiscated it. He catches her and attempts to rape her but was unable to. He leaves her tied up in his room only for her to be found by an older Livius.
  • He is introduced as Alto, a distant relative of the Sun Kingdom's royal family and special visitor of the Sky Dukedom. She is suspicious but decides to leave with him. They escape the palace but end up at a local temple. Nike senses danger but was unable to escape after rescuing a priestess from getting killed by one of Alto's associates known as Ain. Alto explains his plan to sacrifice Nike to the evil spirit in the underground ruins to learn more about it. The evil spirit drags her away to absorb her. She meets a child version of the Dragon God resembling Nephero. He decides to rescue her to keep the evil spirit from escaping. The evil spirit activates Nike’s power to absorb positive energy, attack anyone near the temple with her water entity creation (dark water version), and destroys the Sky Dukedom killing almost thousands of citizens. Nike is determined to avoid her until she gets rescued. After getting captured, Nike attempts to talk to her only to learn it cannot be reasoned with. The Dragon God blinds the evil spirit until Livius arrived with a raw black lotus stone -- given to him by Alto -- to exorcise it. Nike is rescued after the Dragon God, Livius, and Nephero work together. She reunites with Livius until it’s interrupted by Nephero who shields them from a collapsing stone tower. He survives but loses his vision and becomes a paraplegic. Nephero’s brother begs for their forgiveness which they grant after the Dragon God begs Nike for the favor.
  • Nike decides to remain powerless to learn to properly respect nature. Livius decides to follow after Alto to learn of his plan. He tells Nike his backstory concerning his lineage, his mother’s death, his descent to madness by Alto and Antonia, his father’s first wife, and becoming king. Nike comforts and accepts Livius's evil deeds.
  • Everyone arrives at the Ice Kingdom and is welcomed by the Sun Kingdom’s representative, known as Governor Tamba. Livius explains the situation to him. Neil and Galta discuss their investigation of other ancient temples. They decide to talk with Tamba only to find out he was a member of Ursula’s group. Everyone gets taken to prison. Ursula arrives and explains her plan to use Nike to activate the Ice Kingdom’s ancient ruins to manipulate the world as vengeance against Livius. Ain rescues Neil and Galta. He decides to murder Nike, but everyone convinces him to protect her instead. They help Livius and Nike escape. It gets discovered. Out of desperation, everyone escapes via a broken boat except for Neil who sacrifices himself. It gets destroyed by a strong current pushing them out to a lake. They are discovered by Ryuka and an old woman is known as Mama, whose name is actually Tarteeb, the original leader of Ursula’s group. She rescued them because she does not believe in Ursula’s goals.
  • After Lord Bella, the son of a nobleman from the Sun Kingdom, explains the reason Ursula has fallen into despair, Livius leaves alongside Galta to face her. He requests Nike to give him a piece of her hair. Moments later, Nike escapes after learning one of the leaders working under Ursula has found her. A young orphan boy helps while giving Nike a chance to learn more about the people of the Ice Kingdom reminding her of the strength of the Sky Dukedom’s citizens. One of the leaders guides Nike to the home of an old man known as Godot. He researched the ice cave to discover its connection to a sanctuary. Nike decides to explore to find a massive storm over the sanctuary. The ancient machine was activated due to Livius falling onto a platform with Nike’s hair. It begins the self-destruct sequence affecting the world with massive storms. The ice temple begins to disintegration causing them to fall deep into the caverns. Only Livius was protected due to Nike’s hair.
  • Nike glides to the center of the cavern to encounter a spirit. He instructs Nike to sing an ancient song to reset the system. They sing together. He unseals the rest of Nike’s abilities and offers an apology for sealing her powers while instructing to head to the Twilight Kingdom to use the ancient machine to detonate the code. The world will be destroyed by spring!
  • Livius used his bracelet to protect Ursula and Nero. Ursula decides to attack Livius to release her pent up rage while Nike and Neil watch. Afterward, Livius appoints Ursula as the new governess of the Ice Kingdom. Ain introduces himself as a member of the Red Eyes Clan, a citizen of the Twilight Kingdom and decides to guide them to the main system after explaining his connection to Alto.
  • Livius and Nike meet the king of the Twilight Kingdom. They explain their visit and the king guides them to the temple. Tambia appears partway. When asked about his betrayal, he admits feeling hatred for Livius and his father. Evil spirits began to surround him but Galta knocks him out in a fight. Everyone continues only to find Alto releasing the final seal.
  • Alto is overjoyed to be reunited with the evil spirit only to learn the harsh reality: it does not recognize him. It turns to Nike, recognizing her resemblance to the world guardian, to taunt her over the current state of the world. Tsubai helps everyone escape by distracting the evil spirit while the world guardian guides Nike to the “main system”. Time acts differently in the area due to the evil spirit unleashing the weather machine. Livius is outraged while Nike attempts to emphasize with Alto. They arrive in the main system to find a rainbow-colored crystal that recognizes Nike as one of the rain people. Mysterious letters appear, but Nike does not recognize them while Alto explains its purpose. He translates it while she sings. The ancient spirit gets resealed, but the tower gets destroyed. Everyone falls into the darkness with Alto protecting Livius and Tsubai while Nike is protected by the guardian spirit. She learns the code absorbed the last of the world’s power. No humans will be able to survive. Nike requests to search Alto’s memories to find a way to reverse it. The guardian agrees to help.
  • She learns Alto's real name, his connection to Livius as his older half-brother, his mother's origins as a descendant of the Empire of Darkness who taught him the ancient language, and the emotional and physical scar she left before being assassinated. Alto fell into despair awakening one of the dark seeds. He befriends it until it could no longer retain its form. A promise was made. Nike becomes distraught once Alto died. The guardian can revive him, but it’ll lose the last of its power. Nike offers to take his place in exchange for Alto's life. Livius regains consciousness and finds Nike in a beautiful meadow. She explains the situation and reveals her decision. Her final wish is for Livius to find happiness without her. She returns him and everyone to the real world before disappearing with the guardian spirit.

    Personality:
Nike is an unusual princess raised in a country adopting an unorthodox lifestyle. She’s optimistic and enjoys living a simple life. By following the righteous ideals her family firmly believes in, she finds herself in dangerous situations. Most in high society find her to be "savage" and "tactless", but once they realize she’s earnest and compassionate, then their opinions usually shift to respect. It may seem like she's a confident princess, but she has a slight case of an inferiority complex. Nevertheless, she won’t let it get the best of her, especially once she is given a reason to prove herself more than capable to accomplish anything she sets her mind to.

She is very kind and friendly and has an avid interest in her fellow citizens by trying to remember their faces and names. It goes to the point those in high ranking positions become automatically suspicious of her. In Luna and Baldwin's case, they both originally believed her to be the type to use her sex appeal to manipulate others, and in Taichi, Ursula, Nephero, and Alto’s case, it was believed she was another spoiled princess who didn’t understand hardship. An opinion easily debunked whenever tested -- be it by trying to seduce, bully, or be cruel to her. She doesn’t feel the least bit offended after learning their reasons for targeting her are righteous. Her trait to always seek justice keeps her from acting poorly, to help others, and to forgive them. It has occasionally gotten her taken advantage of by Taichi, after attempting to kidnap her, by Luna, in bullying and humiliating her, by Ursula to cause great harm to Livius, and by Nephero who tried to force her to become his property. Of course, it doesn't mean she’s a pushover either. Whenever she notices an injustice committed, no matter what rank the other individual may have, she isn't afraid to call someone out and argue with them about it. Nor is she the type to avoid challenges and duels, she will accept them or even declare one without a second thought. She's naturally vengeful, and won’t hesitate to seek it. For example, she punched a priest in a public ceremony for attempting to murder her.

Her affectionate nature gives her the motivation to do everything she can to help others. Either by meddling in giving unsolicited advice or invading their personal space out of spite, to encourage, or to distract them. She’s naturally attracted to those with a difficult life. Sometimes, her desire to protect others encourages her to never desist in helping them. Even so, once someone touches upon her inferiority complex, she begins to feel ashamed of herself and envy the other person's strengths. She uses those moments for self-improvement. She isn't the type to show negativity instead she bottles it up. She will cry or complain about it once she has had enough unless she needs to be strong for someone else.

Nike has a knack in understanding others by noticing their most notable traits, including physical beauty, however, once she holds a certain bias, then she'll miss the bigger picture. For example, in the first couple of chapters, Nike has a difficult time understanding Livi's character believing he was nothing more than a “precocious brat with a sadistic edge”. It isn't until she is told by others -- mainly Neil and Baldwin -- to interpret his reasoning for certain actions while getting to know him does she become more aware and willing to have an open mind. Nike can be mischievous and bold by playing pranks and teasing others; if she knows she can get away with it, then expect her to do it without fear.

Nike will use her powers to protect others. Using it for personal gain is selfish. It's a philosophy she agrees with. She originally rejected Livius's request to use her power for entertainment until learning it can be used to help him but later on, rescinds her earlier stance after recalling its sacredness. Due to her family keeping her sheltered, Nike doesn't understand the significance of holding the title "best singer". She believes as long as she doesn't summon storms it's impossible to lose control. Which is contradicted in chapter 53 and 96. At first, she doesn't comprehend her grandmother's explanation about the rain song’s ability to reach a person's very essence due to her inexperience in forming deep personal relationships. It isn’t until meeting Livius and all of her friends she begins to understand and notice when she has helped someone accept themselves.

Nike is quick to adapt especially when it’ll be beneficial. Even though she was forced to accept the World King's marriage proposal, she did it for the love of her family and country, and once she arrived at the Sun Kingdom instead of doing everything with indifference she took a genuine interest. She offers this same treatment to everyone. Due to it, Nike is prone to resolve issues on her own than asking for help. She’s naturally reckless and independent by nature. Once it makes someone important feel uneasy, then she'll find alternative ways. All to avoid becoming a burden to others unless she has a pressing reason to. Like saving a life, nation, or the world, for example. She doesn’t think twice about saving others, even at the cost of her own. Which she does by accepting the role of World Guardian in exchange for Alto’s life in chapter 137.

Although she holds characteristics to make her a great political figure, she has many weaknesses to overcome. For one, she skips on lessons and most public ceremonies. Believing her time is most valuable by spending time with her subjects and helping them. Her idealistic mindset keeps her blind from the realism of the actual world. It's the reason she is so easy to forgive because her idealistic mindset doesn't allow her to accept the usual black and white stance of the world. She understands people make mistakes and should be given chances even if they don't rightfully deserve it. Adding into the effect Nike will forgive all slights against her because of her inferiority complex, believing she does not matter in the grand scheme of things. In order to gain peace, Nike is willing to sacrifice everything for it. Sometimes she is prone to loneliness and once she becomes attached to someone, then she may become co-dependent. Due to her upbringing in being surrounded by a large family, even when ignored and teased, she has become used to always having someone by her side. As much as she enjoys being on her own, she will grow depressed when left entirely alone.

All in all, Nike is a character with many different layers. She'll take the difficult path believing it will test her character and help others grow. She strives for peace as a top priority; always trying to improve herself while remaining true to herself. One of her wishes is to create all types of connections and never losing the reckless courage in putting people in their place. Even so, Nike is a typical bumpkin princess that is known in thinking outside the box.

    Key themes:
  • Acceptance: Nike's entire existence is all about accepting the hand fate had offered her with little to no complaints. Be it accepting a politically arranged marriage with no guarantee that she'll find happiness or love; be it accepting her circumstances on being born in a poor country with limited resources; changing herself from an impulsive tomboy to a princess willing to harm herself to fit the kingdom's standards, or accepting the worse aspects of humanity with the hope to reach the "true feelings" inside their hearts. Nike knows everyone has a story, her only wish is to be able to listen to it without any bias or judgment.
  • Weakness/Hope: Her greatest weakness is her inferiority complex! It's one she'll never find hope to change because she has accepted herself to be the undesirable sister, the useless fiance, and the most inconvenient queen consort. Although she has many weaknesses in her character, Nike still believes in her skills as a rain summoner. Her powers have given her the confidence to help, protect, and rescue others -- be it by reaching the very depths of their hearts with her songs or helping them realize their value to themselves, family, friends, or society. As much as her powers give others hope, it has given her the optimism to move forward and the courage to reach her hand out even if it means having to go through thorns to reach them.
  • Courage: As accepting as she may be about her fate, Nike still has the courage to stand up for justice and call out bad behavior. Her impulsive nature stems from the courage to face all challenges head-on instead of expecting others to resolve it for her. She isn't the type of person who likes to be protected. Instead, she wants to be the type of person other people want to rely on for help, to feel protected by simply being her side, and knowing if anything goes wrong, then she'll take care of it.

Main Motivation: The love she has for mankind and the world are Nike's main motivations in being accepting of others, to always forgive others no matter what, and to give others hope by helping them grow as an individual, to protect them with all of her might, or offer a glimpse to a beautiful world by unifying humanity and spirits.

    Skills:
  • Environmental Telepathy: The ability to connect with nature, people, and spirits. An innate talent born to all descendants of the Rain Kingdom's royal family. It’s separated into two different categories known as the outer and inner voices. The outer voice belongs to the group of people. She can sense the type of hearts or feelings they possess. Like if they have opened/closed hearts or are feeling afraid/happy/etc. She can’t zone in on one specific individual unless they’re dead. The inner voice belongs to the very fabric of nature and spirits. Just as she can determine the type of personality an area has from a group of people, she can determine the malleability her area has in allowing her to manipulate the weather. The world’s voice communicates in an ancient tongue used to create the rain song.
  • Guardian Spirit Mode: The ability to transform into an incorporeal, floating, and transversing being. She’s unable to affect physical objects nor possess others. The only abilities she may activate are activating the different types of rainbows. Those sensitive to the supernatural will be able to notice and sense her. She won't be able to roam private areas unless invited but has free reign in public areas.
  • Hair Barrier: The ability to use her hair as a protective charm against water and wind attacks. It will keep the wearer from getting wet or lose body temperature. Also, will act as a life vest by helping the wearer float whenever they are swimming in water. It needs to be worn outwardly for it to activate. If it’s inside a pocket, for example, then it’ll become useless. This ability does not affect Nike and it can be destroyed with magic.
  • Hypnosis: The ability to add light suggestive effects into her songs. It can be used to help someone relax, reveal their true emotions (at the moment), fall into a dreamless and restful slumber, or to help erase memories (a special blend of tea has to be included). It further encourages others to become captivated and pay exclusive attention to Nike whenever she sings. In the Void, I’d like for the NPC to become affected by her singing while the PC population will have to fill out a permission/opt-out form.
  • Rain Partnership: A partner is required to help her summon purifying rain (sparkling version) and increase her synchronization rate with her surroundings. It includes an emotional telepathic link. Sometimes Nike will be able to witness her partner’s memories via dreams and her partner can feel the emotions she evokes into her songs. For example, if Nike feels anxious, hurt, excited, etc, then they will be able to sense it. The connection may allow the individual -- depending on the chemistry level -- to sense her calling them, no matter the distance. She’ll be able to observe visions of her partner's movement whenever unconscious or deeply injured. Only humans can make a pact with her -- alive or dead.
  • Rain Song: There are three versions of the song. 1) The basic version limits in summoning Noah-type disasters. They can summon weather in one specific area and need additional summoners to increase their strength. A summoner may master one aspect of their powers: wind, rain, or hypnosis. 2) The second version is the original song created by Nike's ancestors to summon weather in more than one area. This specific song connects to the atmosphere after finding the correct lyrics and melody. The climate, land, and scenery must be used as inspiration to help absorb negative emotions. The song is passed down to the best singer to become a world guardian. It was taught to Nike not to become a guardian but to become the next ruler of her country. 3) The third song is used by the world guardians to perfectly balance and harmonize the world. Their song can be used in any area without needing to change the lyrics or melody. Nike has mastered the second version and was taught the third after becoming the new world guardian. In this game, her song and summoning may be useless unless she synchronizes with the world (via using water or having a rain summoning partner) which I will always ask the mods about. I doubt she'll ever be able to use the third version.
  • Rain Summoning: Nike can control the weather, including the atmosphere, different types of rainbows, and other weather phenomena. Relying heavily on her sight because she’s limited by the distance or it'll become a misfire. She can change the form of water into mist and fog and create elemental creatures. It’ll remain active as long as she can sing. There are exceptions. Nike cannot summon weather unfamiliar to an area unless she gets overwhelmed with massive energy which only happens if she loses her ear-rings or becomes fully possessed by a powerful spirit. If she’s unable to properly connect with her new surroundings or partner, then she'll barely be able to manipulate the weather until it improves. Her limit is an hour. She loses consciousness after getting overwhelmed and will remain unconscious between half a day or a full one.
  • Song of Life: The only time Nike will be able to pinpoint an individual's location is when they are close to death. Everyone has a song that symbolizes them and can only be heard when life is flickering or about to disappear. It is an ability that will grab Nike's attention and pull her on a spiritual level. Of course, she won't know the identity of the individual's song unless she uncovers it the first time it happens. In this game's case, I'd like to have a permission form/opt-out form available to know what type of song she can hear from PC.
  • Spiritual Attraction: Nike attracts spirits, including ghosts and evil spirits. She has a difficult time differing ghosts from the living in her birthplace while in other places she can sense them but will be unable to notice them unless they appear. It’s the same issue for nature spirits. For example, if Nike is in a high enough mountain, she can attract cloud sprites and in garden areas, she'll be able to notice the flower's whispers if she cultivates them. Evil spirits, on the other hand, only appear after possessing her. She’ll be unable to resist its influence whenever her earrings are lost or broken. Her song’s alignment will change from absorbing negative emotions to absorbing positive emotions while summoning the black-colored rain. Nike will revert to her original alignment after it’s exorcised out of her body.
  • Voice Amplification: Her voice can increase in volume. Her voice can be heard 8 km (5 miles) from wherever she’s standing. It becomes 17 km (10.5 miles) for areas with echo effects or across open spaces with very little noise.
  • Water Entity Creation: The ability to create beings from water into a solid shape by using a water source -- be it a puddle, lake, or heavy rainfall. She can only give an order ranging from -- defense, attack, or purify an area. Depending on the size of the water source will depend on the water creature’s size and number. They can grow as big as 6.5ft (78in) to as small as 3.6ft (43in). She can only summon 5. Their defense is low since it takes one successful slash for them to multiply and decrease in size. Their attack is powerful after slamming and smacking. The water entities lose their form and return to their original form after Nike loses consciousness.
  • Watersense: She's able to sense all quantities of water in her general area. All with the purpose to manipulate the element into other forms and to better connect with her surroundings. Pools of water will help her reconnect to the atmosphere after sickness and severe injury. She needs to be completely healthy to achieve it or the attempt may fail.
  • Wind Summoning: The ability to create, shape, and manipulate the wind. No song is needed to activate it. Nike simply needs to harmonize with her surroundings. She can use the wind to blast, push targeted objects, as a guide to lead her to nearby exits, glide short distances, a barrier to protect herself, and to cut clothes, metal, and tear the skin. Nike can’t use the wind deep underground, far from exits nor can she use the wind to cut through anything enchanted. She can’t use it to observe incoming areas nor notice if there is physical danger. She’s barely able to lift other people unless small in stature and is desperate to rescue them.

Here are other notable skills that aren't based on magic:
  • Large Appetite: Due to her powers always being constantly on and draining her body whenever being used, Nike tends to eat more than a normal human. Whenever she is hungry, she will be unable to successfully use her powers. Instead, if she remains hungry for too long, then she may faint until regaining enough energy to wake up or when she smells food closeby. So please always feed your local rain summoning princess or she'll faint at the drop of a hat!
  • Strong Physical Strength: Even without her powers, Nike is known to give a powerful punch enough to beat up four professional palace guards from one of the most powerful countries in her homeworld on her own. She was taught self-defense by the sailors of her country with the hopes she wouldn't rely solely on her powers.
  • Night Vision: Nike has amazing night vision due to being born and raised in a nature-centric country filled with forest and rain clouds hiding the location of her island. Needless to say, Nike used to escape to the forest cliffs when she was younger on very dark moonless nights without the use of a lamp or candle. She has even used the ability to sneak out of places in both the Rain Kingdom and the Sky Kingdom without being detected.
  • High (Dart) Accuracy: Nike is known to be the best dart's player in her kingdom. She is known to win all festival prizes by playing this game alone. It's hinted the reason behind her high accuracy skills is due to her rain summoning training because all summoners are expected to control each raindrop.
  • Animal Magnet: She self-proclaims in being easily liked by domesticated animals while wild animals tend to recognize her status as a rain summoner whenever she activates the destructive aspect of her powers. It's the reason she was able to learn to ride horses and camels in less than a day or avoid being stung by scorpions when thrown at her. She doesn't fear snakes and tends to throw them at other people as vengeance for teasing/bullying her (also she has eaten snakes before and encourages others to eat them too).

Item: Her red lotus stone earrings.
